Development and Reform Commission: Electricity consumption in the first half of the year is the highest since 2012
On July 17, the National Development and Reform Commission held a press conference on the macroeconomic performance in the first half of the year. A related press spokesperson said that in the first half of the year, the national power generation increased by 8.3 year-on-year, and the electricity consumption of the whole society increased by 9.4 year-on-year. The structural reduction of capacity in the coal field continued to advance, and the supply and demand of energy in the peak summer period were generally stable.
The growth rate of new energy power generation has accelerated significantly
Solar power generation increased by 21.1 year-on-year
The reporter learned from the press conference that in the first half of the year, the national nuclear power, wind power, and solar power generation increased by 19.3, 11.4, and 21.1 respectively year-on-year. National power generation increased by 8.3 year-on-year, and the growth rate dropped by 0.2 percentage points from January to May. In June, the national power generation increased by 6.7 year-on-year, maintaining a rapid growth trend. Among them, the growth rate of new energy power generation accelerated significantly, and the growth rate of thermal power and hydropower declined; thermal power increased by 6.3 year-on-year, and the growth rate was 4.0 percentage points lower than that in May; hydropower growth 3.7, a drop of 3.2 percentage points.
Data shows that the nationwide electricity consumption increased by 9.4 year-on-year, which was the highest since 2012, and the growth rate was 3.1 percentage points higher than the same period last year. Among them, the electricity consumption of primary, secondary, tertiary and households increased by 10.3, 7.6, 14.7 and 13.2 respectively year-on-year. Affected by factors such as stable economic growth and higher temperatures in most regions than usual, electricity consumption in June increased by 8.0 year-on-year, and the growth rate increased by 1.5 percentage points year-on-year.
Resolutely deal with "zombie companies"
Speed up the elimination of outdated production capacity in the coal industry
2018 is a year of deepening of structural reforms on the coal supply side. According to the relevant press spokesperson, in order to achieve the goal of reducing coal production capacity of about 150 million tons, in the first half of the year, the following four aspects of work were focused on the structural reduction of coal production capacity.
One is to resolutely deal with "zombie companies." Supervise and guide local systems to sort out and summarize the handling of "zombie companies" since 2016, list lists, formulate plans, conduct comprehensive inspections, and report results. The second is to accelerate the elimination of outdated production capacity. Appropriately increased the coal mine production capacity withdrawal standards in the southern region, according to strict law enforcement to close one batch, implement capacity replacement and exit one batch, and upgrade a small number of batches through transformation and upgrading, and gradually upgrade or eliminate the exit. The third is to strictly control illegal production capacity. Actively promote the handling of violations of laws and regulations in construction projects in accordance with the requirements of "four synchronizations and four in place" for accountability, handling personnel, handling procedures, and resuming production. For coal mine projects that have been handled in accordance with the law and have relevant conditions, coordinate and expedite the relevant procedures to realize construction and production in accordance with the law. The fourth is to make overall plans to reduce production capacity, ensure supply and stabilize prices.
In response to the rapid growth in energy demand and frequent abnormal weather since the beginning of this year, we will work with relevant departments to increase the release of high-quality production capacity, strengthen transportation coordination and guarantee, promote the implementation of medium and long-term contracts, strengthen expected guidance and market supervision and other measures.
Significant increase in coal, electricity, oil and gas consumption
In the peak summer, energy supply and demand are generally stable
Regarding the operation of coal-fired power and oil and gas during the peak summer period, the relevant press spokesperson said that since the beginning of this year, the consumption of electricity, coal, and natural gas has increased significantly. Among them, the consumption of electric coal has increased by more than 100 million tons year-on-year, which is rare in the past decade. During the peak summer period, the energy supply and demand situation becomes more complicated.
In order to actively respond to the complex situation of energy security supply during the peak summer period, the National Development and Reform Commission ha
